Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream speech

With the increasing rate of racism in the United States, there was the emergence of civil activists whose aim was to change this system of victimization and merciless treatment. Martin Luther was among the civil activists who boycotted and protested for a change in the system. It is through this act of fighting for their civil rights that Martin Luther King came up with a speech on March 1963 on “I have a dream” which created a greater impact and gained him and the movement popularity.  The speech remains memorable even to date as he used exclusively great literary tools which enhanced his speech to be outstanding and this technique has been used by so many writers today (King 1986).

In his speech he has used several literally devices in order to pass on meaning.  These literally tools formed the basis of his unique and successful writing style. One of the tools he applied was the use of repetition during his work so as to create emphasis. He repeated phrases such as I have a dream, go back, let freedom reign, we can never be satisfied and with this faith.

He has also used metaphor so as to make direct contrast between two unlike stuff where one thing can substitute another. Martin Luther has thus used several metaphors in his speech such as in Chapter 4 and 5 where he describes a promissory note as a check and insufficient funds to mean bouncing. He uses imagery where he especially uses the imagery of feelings such as comparing their suffering with that of heat so as to enable the listener to form an image of this kind of suffering. He also used suggestive and commanding voices so as to draw emotional connection to his audience.

OUR LANGUAGE

Which Topic?

Videos are believed to be very entertaining and for it to attract many people just by its topic then, the title must be very convincing. Movies relating to language are not so common. In order to have a large population of America watching it then, the title and the content of the movie must have some weight. The movie must acquire a general appeal to the viewers (Millward& Mary, 86). In order to come up with an interesting topic and an educative one at the same time then, proper consideration must be made in relation to the content the video will premiere. The content must relate to the topic and must not be too obvious for anyone to tell what the content will be. This will ensure that anyone who hears of it or comes across the movie will have the urge to watch it. It is also important to consider the will be targeted by the video. This will ensure that the large population will be attached to it especially the ones who are still learning and also the parents who will be assisted there young ones with language related matter (Millward& Mary, 90). A topic such as “The Loss Of Our Own”.

Why choose the topic over all others?

With such a title there will be a lot of talking going on about the movie. This is because the title does not have a direct connection with the content though related will make everybody yearn to see the full content of the movie. Such a movie does not have any limitation of age as a factor, therefore, many people will be willing to spare their time and watch it and see what the movie holds for them. This title will bring the attention to many due to its attractiveness. Above all others title such as “Language Matters” and “Linguistic Loss” are to open and obvious to tell what the content is. Such a title can result in a few Americans watching it especially those who hate linguistic. Small children may also be bored just by the topic rather than the content (Millward& Mary, 143).

Information the video would convey.

The video will contain the important issues that are related to the endangered language and the various attempts that will revitalize them. The video will also show what will happen if proper care of our language is considered. The dangers that will be as a result of this will should be very touching in order to motivate people to take care of our language (Millward& Mary, 150). The movie should also be passionate about the language and the benefits that come along with it. The video will also put into consideration the knowledge that every view would grasp in the session of watching the video. This would cause a spark in every view making them watch it over and over again in order to determine whether there is anything they missed during the previous session (Millward& Mary, 180).

The changes the video would make.

With such a video that is interesting and educative then there are positive impacts that are going to be realized. This will encourage more people to take care of our language since there are going to be numerous advantages to oneself by doing so. It will also bring consciousness to the people about the language and they will be in a better position to take care of the language (Millward& Mary, 290).

Introduction

It has come to our concern that congress officers and politicians have become a burden to citizens by holding fundraisers for the purpose of election campaigns. Raising eighteen thousand dollars per day is so exploiting especially for the sake of campaigns. For this reason, Rep. David Jolly has presented a bill that shall handle this problem before the election period that is due in six months[1]. Different views have come up, some propose while others oppose the motion which has lasted for quite some time. I’m here to present my stand on this issue and try to bring all the parties together to speak in one accord[2]. I want us to reason together on the impact of passing and failing this bill so that we can come to a harmonious state thereafter. Failing the bill would oppress the citizens rather than serving them as the duty demands while passing it would oppress the politicians. Between the two sides of oppression whose impact is significantly felt, of course the oppression of the citizen[3]. This essay will base its arguments in support of the passing of the pending bill bearing in mind how significant the impact is to the beneficiaries.

First, fundraisers waste a lot of time and resources. Just holding a single fundraiser is very expensive and also time consuming. A recent research show that members of the congress spend over thirty hours a week in soliciting campaigns. A lot of money is also spent in the process. This wastage comes about due to the many committee meetings, transport, preparations and other minor expenses like hiring facilities and investing in good awareness to the citizens. Follow-up which is one of the important steps of a fundraiser is also cumbersome whereby others end up not meeting their targets. This scatters the little that had been gathered at the expense of getting more funds from the citizens. If a single fundraiser costs this much, the many fundraisers that are done after every now and then would really drag back the economy[4].

Poor politicians and members of the congress are not disadvantaged. This is because citizens will still be allowed to channel their contributions as much as they are willing to do so.  Volunteers, well-wishers and sponsors are also not lock out from assisting politicians in raising funds for the campaign. Furthermore, the members of the congress shall be encouraged to seek other sources of getting those funds such as loans from financial institutions and so on. [5]This will not put any citizen under pressure in the name of raising eighteen thousand dollars per day for campaign purposes.

Raising funds has diverted many politicians’ minds from the core business of serving the citizens. Many politicians have failed to perform their duties as expected. Some of them are also corrupt such that even when they get hold of those offices, they divert their dedication to their own selfish gain. It is during such fundraisers that the politicians come again to outline false manifesto towards the goals of the society[6].

Weighing the opposition side, the arguments are still substantial. Some people think that Jolly who standing in for the open senate is competing with Rubio. On this knot, I would like to put emphasis on the suffering parties of our actions. It’s not a matter of politicians to benefit rather it’s for the citizens[7]. Passing of this bill will serve and save many generations afterwards from the dangers that come about due to fundraisers.

The overall contribution of fundraisers is small compared to the efforts that are put in place. Fundraisers of the past have contributed less than they ought to give to the improvement of the economy. Focusing on how much the fundraisers have contributed to our economy at large, we find that it is not proportional to the efforts that are put in place for it to be successful. For instance, the former Senate Majority Leader, Tom Daschle has done estimation. He found that two-thirds of his time as a senate was used up in raising money for political issues. These and many more arguments should be considered as we look forward towards passing the bill.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there are more pressing and important public policy issues that are waiting us as the politicians. We should consider the many drawbacks that come about due to fundraisers. Just to briefly highlight them they include wastage of time money and other resources, putting stress on the citizens instead of serving them and diverting the main goal by inclining the politicians towards corruption and self-gains. We have also offered alternative means whereby members of the congress can get support like getting loans from financial institutions, getting funds from volunteers and well-wishers and other safe means[8]. Our main target is to safeguard the well-being of the citizens whom we represent in the government. Finally, both sides have benefits but passing the bill would have more impact in boosting the economy of this country.

Graduation Commencement for Class of 2016

Thank you so much for this grand opportunity to speak to all of you, I am so humbled and delighted this day to be the one standing before you after all these years to commemorate your graduation day. To all the graduates; a big thanks to you for all the hard work and toil to be the ones seating on those seats today. Congratulations.

Let me begin by thanking the administration and management of Pottsgrove high school for the fruits of their labor that we can all see today that worked hard to ensure that these graduates are here today. I am very proud to be part of this family and to be associated with you all; you have made us proud. I want to take this opportunity and recognize all the trustees, the faculty and staff here in this school for all the effort they put to see the students complete their high school education. God bless you. You have all played a very instrumental role in molding and shaping these beautiful and handsome faces standing before us today. They are the hope for the future.

This goes to all the graduates; one very powerful person told graduates to stop dreaming and start doing. I know that you all have dreams but what are you doing to make your dreams become a reality? If you sit and do nothing the dream will always be a dream and never be a realized dream. Today, the world has very many dreamers; these are the people you talk to and they have a lot of information of where they want to go and how to get there but are actually doing nothing about it. We should know that as people are busy dreaming others are busy acting and implementing their dreams. These are the ones we consider very successful, very happy, very powerful and influential and very busy people. I urge you today that you should become a doer and not a dreamer.

You may not be aware of your passion as at now, but that is not important; the one and most important thing is for you to keep moving forward. By this I mean that you have to keep yourself busy doing something; be creative and open minded, seize every opportunity as it comes, be a risk taker bearing in mind that the greater the risk, the greater the gain. Whatever comes your way do it; it does not have to fit in your perfect lifestyle or vision. Doing things the same old way creates monotony and with time becomes boring. You are young people; explore new .businesses, explore the world, learn new things and through this you will make your dream a reality.

Robert, one of the greatest people on earth said that change is something that is inevitable. It is only a vending machine that would never change. Today as you stand on the verge of crossing over to move beyond the walls of Pottsgrove high school; you become inevitable to change. It is indeed predictable, pleasing and rewarding to see our 2016 class graduating today having matured and possessed the skills and proficiency required for them to handle and extend their education levels. You are well able and equipped to be a problem solver out there. This is because relationships, structures and systems are all vulnerable to change especially with this changing technology. This is one of the many reasons why you should ‘always keep yourself updated with the ‘current information. The information that you .may have today may become obsolete tomorrow. Keep yourself informed; there are many channels through which we can acquire information today; Google, television news, social media among other plat forms.

It is vital to note that you will face new challenges out there and things may appear to be different for you. It is true to say that life is going to appear a little bit more complex and stirred up; but do not fear for we have been there and have made it and so will you make it too.

As we look back today, we see a journey that started with tentative, cautious and diffident steps; but today we can see the far that these ladies and gentlemen have advanced. It has been a tribute and a privilege to me to be part of this successful journey which has been filled with wonderful and memorable memories. Kindly allow me to share some of these memories with you; this is back in the year 2003 when I was your coach in T ball and later in the little league. Back then you were little children and encounters with you in the field were very exciting. Seeing you in those tiny uniforms and the zeal to play right filled my heart with joy as I kept praying that God will honor your zeal and keep you strong until a day like today. As I look at you today, I am so grateful to God and to you too for keeping up the spirit and ensuring that this day becomes a reality.

This memory portray the character of our graduating class of 2016; a character of resilience, hard work, flexibility, integrity, zeal, enthusiasm and passion for all of them. I would be humbled to pay tribute to each and every one of them. Yes, we have gone through trials and difficulties along the way but we have soldiered on and have come out stronger and more powerful. The extraordinary and magical instances will ne greatly be remembered through the years. All of you have left an ineffaceable and permanent legacy of superiority, excellence, achievement and an awesome culture for all people that will go through this institution.

The future of our state is predestined into the hands of capable and intelligent people. This class of 2016 has attained outstanding compliments and awards. Their excellent results are a proof of this; it shows that a great number of students struggled to work to the best of their potential; they had high goals and targets which they not only achieved but exceeded them by far.

Therefore, ladies and gentlemen even as you handle the expected changes that come your way, stay true to yourself, believe in yourself and know that you are well able to make it. Please keep holding on your systems of value, ethics and morality and most significant of all, your humanitarian values. These are some of the qualities that will take you through life journey.

One of the wise sayings by Henry Ford states that coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is a success (Jay, 2014). If we can all remember the day we came here as nervous and new students with our proud parents we did not see the reality of this day. But here it is, successful as a result of the steadfastness, determination and the resolutions we kept together. Each and every day we were focused on our goals and worked together as a family. This graduation shows the fruits of our working together despite the challenges we faced on the way. Let this torch your life out there.

The world is depending on your readiness and ability to illuminate but remember you cannot make it on your own. Learn to work together bearing in mind that unity is strength and divided you will fall (Crowley & Crowley, 2014).  Wherever you shall be ensure that there is cohesion and cooperation among the people you are with. You need each other to stand and to grow.

The next thing I want to talk about is choices. Today marks the end of our high school lives and the commencement of new chapters in our lives and tomorrow marks the end of the common bond that we all shared. We will be leaving Pottsgrove high school for good. This is to mean that we will be taking very different paths determined by the choices we make and living very different lives.

We need to know that the choices we make will determine our paths of destiny and will have tremendous impacts on our lives too. By this I don’t mean the choice of whether to obey your parents or not; I mean choices that have an impact on your career that will determine your life. We need to understand that making choices is not an easy task and I am sure that some of us are already cynical of the choices that you have already made. Choices make or break us, they change everything around us. We are responsible for the choices we make; whether good or bad.

Some of us here may not be completely aware of what they want to do with their lives immediately after this graduation which is completely okay. My advice to you is to take time and know what you want in life; where your strengths are and finally sit and make a decision. Never make critical decisions hurriedly or to please someone else or you will regret it. I know some of you have developed strong relationships and bonds here and you may want to follow your friend to the same university or better still do the same course. Please don’t fall into this snare; we are all different because we are all uniquely different and our difference in interests explains this. It is also important to go to career counselors and they will help you to make an informed decision about your career. Wrong choices destroy lives, please ensure you don’t fall victim to this.

Your grades here do not determine who you will be in the future. You may not have attained what you expected but do not give up on yourself. There is more to life than high school grades. You can make a difference if you choose to work on yourself because I believe that there is always room for improvement. The power to change not just your grades or your life is always within reach. All what you are required to do is to locate and use it for your benefit. I have read and seen testimonies of people who had low grades in high school but have made it in life; you are not different. It all lays in the decisions you make as an individual and the steps you take.

Tyler Durden said that, “you are not your job, you are not how much money you have in the bank, you are not the contents of your wallet, you are not the clothes you wear, you are not your Grande latte, you are not the car you drive, you are not your khakis, you are you”  (luntz, 2009). Do not try to be someone else just be the real you. This world we live in is full of followers that have caused people to accept this mindless attempt of making us become what we are not. This has caused a loss of personal identity because we want to be like the person on the other end who is successful and intelligent not knowing that it took them a journey to get there. This is one of the major causes of wrong choices in life. I therefore urge all of us, know and accept the real you and this will help you make choices that will better your life.

Hunter, (2009) states that “birds of feather flock together,” this tell you that people of the same mindset, the same level of thinking and the same characters will always be found together. There is one English proverb that says if you show me your friend I will be able to tell you the kind of person you are. This is to mean the people around you determine how your life would be. It is true to say that if you stay around lazy and non focused people the same will reflect on you. I know all of us have a vision and are focused, let us chose our friends wisely because the company we chose will determine character. Stay around the kind of people that are positive, goal oriented, focused and as the saying goes iron sharpens iron; you will be able to reach your goal easily.

In relation to this, let me speak about the issue of drugs and substance abuse. This is a topic that has been an issue to the nation and the world at large. When I say drugs I mean cocaine, heroin, marijuana and alcohol. I believe we been taught in our classes the effects of the same. After you leave this gate after the graduation nobody will follow you as much as the time you we here. Despite the fact that your parents will be looking out for you, you will take responsibility of your actions. People are out there waiting to lure you into taking these drugs with the promise that they will make you feel good and that you are an adult now. Ladies and gentlemen beware of such as they will only be leading you to destruction. All of us have not only heard but seen the effects of drugs on people. They will ruin your life, create addiction and you may end up in jail for cases of crime. I know that you are responsible people watch out for your lives and avoid drugs and substance abuse.

Choose to live a happy life rather than live a life that is determined by the circumstances around you or what other people may think about you. Ensure that you live life with the right reasons knowing that life can be tough at times and your parents will not always be there to bail you out. The manner in which you chose to do things around you is entirely dependent on you.

As you have always shows the attribute of perseverance, keep this even after your life here. This is because the secret to success always endurance. If you want to be successful in live never give in despite the circumstances around you; desire to press on until you make it. Endurance will help to propel your life no matter the challenges that come your way; winners never quit and quitters never win. Thomas Edison, the man who invented a bulb failed a thousand times but never give up. He was optimistic and one day a reported asked him how it felt fail 1000 times but surprisingly he said that he didn’t fail it only showed 1000 ways that would not invent a bulb.

Be optimistic about your failures and learn from them. This is because mistakes are a normal part of life but ensure that a mistake is not repeated. Mistakes help us to identify the weak points and work on them. In case we face obstacles in life, do not run away from them instead face them head on. This is because leaders and great people solve problems and will always enable you to be a great thinker of the possible solutions for the obstacle.

Lastly time is a very important resource in our daily lives. Each and every person living in the world has 24 hours a day to run their activities. The difference comes in the way we manage our time. One can either use time to their profit or to their loss. During your stay here in school the management regulated through the use of schedules and bells, however, out there you are your own time manager. You determine what to do with the 24 hours that are generally given to all of us. Please take away the culture of effective time management you learnt here in school; the use of schedules and time tables. Make the most out of your time by marking the difference between that which is important and that which is a priority.

The achievements that you have made today will one day be long forgotten, the consistent applauses that you are excited about may be very distant and your certificates and ,medals may not make a difference but one thing will; your character. People will remember you as that very caring person that helped someone and made them feel special, or that person that turned around the life of needy child or that kind person that treated others with respect and ensured fairness and justice is equated to all. As I sum up, watch your thoughts as they determine your words, watch your words they determine your actions, watch your actions they determine your habit, watch your habits as they determine your character and watch your character as it determines your destiny. Your life is an extraordinary and outstanding occasion I believe in you and have no shadow of doubt that you will rise to it. Thank you.

Writing a Persuasion Essay

Persuasion is an attempt to influence someone in their own belief, intentions, motivations, attitudes or even behaviors. It is true to say that persuasion takes a broad spectrum of situations. Persuasion can be used in written or spoken words to convey the information, feeling and reasoning. This can be used for personal gains, such as in sales or political campaigns. Persuasion has its elements that drives it in order to influence different people (Stewart, 2015).

Credibility plays a great role in persuasion. This will involve building trust and expertise which must be earned. Individuals will have to believe that the one pursuing them have the expertise and they are worth of their trust. In order to pursue an individual one must be sure that any information that he or she is going to be used will be credible and free from judgement.  This will help to prevent any individual being pursued from having a questioning mind (Stewart, 2015). A solid argument will is also a key element of persuasion. This is to ensure that the argument is sensible in order to elude to those who are already opposed to one's ideas. The argument must be consistent, can strike emotions, can address the interest of those being pursued favorably, can also neutralize any competing alternatives and can also endorse any objective and authority. Understanding the audience is also a key element of persuasion. This will involve identifying centers of influence and decision makers (Stewart, 2015). Effective communication is an element of persuasion. This appeals to the people’s emotions involving the human desires and values. In order to build and maintain commitment involving strategic plans effective communication has to be appealing to both hearts and minds (Stewart, 2015).

Credibility is the most influential element of persuasion. This is because it deals with the most critical aspect of persuasion. It is so difficult to build trust on someone regarding oneself. Trust must be earned. Also building expertise on will require one to be devoted and committed. In all, it is not an easy task (Stewart, 2015).

Politicians must use the key element of persuasion in order to be voted in and have large numbers supporting them. A politician should be credible in his politics. This will enhance the trust the people have for him. A politician must also be solid in his argument in order to have a competitive advantage over his opposes in order to strike emotions on his followers. Understanding the audience and identifying the audience centers and the decision makers will be of great assistance to maintain a good number of followers. In order to achieve all this, the politician must be able to communicate effectively with the followers. This will create an understanding between the audience and the politician (Stewart, 2015).

An advertiser will need to pursue the audience when marketing the goods and services. The advertisement must be credible for the audience to trust the advertiser. The advertisement also needs to lay the argument in a proper manner in order to catch the audience emotions and pursue them that the products are the best. For it to be effective the audience must also understand the audience preference in order to be in a position to offer what they desire and value. In order to be successful, the advertiser must consider how to effectively communicate with the audience in the different commercial in order to capture their attention (Stewart, 2015).

Recently I was involved with the task to convince my project mates on how we can finish the project earlier than the normal time so that we can have some time for ourselves away from the project. Understanding the audience played the great part in convincing them since I knew what every one of us wanted. It was not so difficult to do so because no one hates free time.

Reading and Response

  1. Photos have the power and the ability to constructing social problems. According to the reading, they give a clear picture of how the problem is and the size of that problem. Photos also give a moral compass to guide the audience how to feel about that particular problem and how it can be addressed. Photos have ultimate power to frame the significance of addressing a problem because of the meaning that they carry beyond what can be expressed in the words. Photos expose visibly the social problems to the public hence leading to policy reforms for example the photo of a tsunami that occurred in the Indian Ocean had a human face put on the disaster. The woman was surrounded by dead children and the appearance of the photo alone to the audience can quickly galvanize immediate actions to be taken about the current state and this feeling cannot be perceived through words.
  2. In illustration 3, pairing of two photos side by side brings in the issue of stereotypes. This firstly indicates the power that one race has over the other race. This clearly explains race stereotypes and as shown in the illustration, the dark skinned represents the irresponsibility by another race in the wake of the disaster.
  3. In illustration 4, the photos used frame episodes of school shootings. The implication of these photos is that violence at school is the one of the causes of school shooting. When any violent incidence occurs in any form, it kindles other associated activities related to it among which is shooting. This therefore implies that shootings are more likely to take place in a violent environment.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

Does handwriting really give a real perception how a person is, that might be tricky to answer but with scientific analysis it looks way better in determining the actual facts. MS Lowe has got several accolades with her superb way of unleashing the inner truth of some individuals, however; there exist some skeptics to the ability of this being the truth (Laughlin, 2011)). If there is anything to blend and actualize this theory is the scientific study, it has the ability to provide logical, creative, and furthermore a rigorous number of methods in discerning facts. The problem of terror attacks is a global issue which needs to be dealt heads up, sober and intellectual minds are the only way to face and you can be assured of no bias. The bombings which unfortunately happen to hit the streets of London are an experience we all ought to forget but we cannot. First of all, why can a group of individual be so much malicious, what is the motive of such kind of people? Definitely, you can be assured that this cannot fall far from the extremist groups. It was a world leaders meeting which to some extent they intended to disrupt then you can be assured that this is radicalized people who feel they are not getting enough from the ruling government and being the sidelined in terms of economy or something close to that. The whole and the big question to research would be terrorism. Google and Yoho have been very helpful interment sources which it could enlighten problems. Wikipedia is also used on occasional times though not dependable, online Media, Bing, journals, and books got a greater importance to this (Kuhn & Hacking, 2012). Problems have been identified through various means and the research methodology matters.

            Miss Representation

            Discussion 1

The issues that are reflected in the resources are presented in the form of photography. These ideas cannot be challenged because they are reliable and accurate because they are based on the perception of individual’s in gender roles (Ponte,2011). The ideas are therefore based on facts as well as the expectation of individuals on a particular gender. Both Sherman and Antoni address gender in their arts by displaying the roles that distinct genders plays.

            Discussion 2

Her characters are believable and reliable because the viewer can freely relate with them.  Her characters are driven by those activities and roles that women play and therefore the viewer can believe them because they have experience that they happen which makes it easy to draw a connection. The viewers can additionally connect this because they can relate this to their expectations of women (Ponte, 2011).

            Discussion 3

The transformation theme is crucial in showing the changing nature of the gender roles.  In this, she is subverting the traditional gender roles for women by demonstrating distinct roles that they play in life (PBS, 2014). She is emphasizing on gender stereotype by creating awareness on the crucial roles that women play (Ponte, 2011).

            Discussion 4

Presenting the roles in photographic mode has a different impact as compared to other Medias. This is because through photography she is fully able to display the female gender roles in different pictures thus communicating distinct messages (PBS, 2014).

            Discussion 5

My relation with her pieces is good as it helps in the creation of awareness by increasing knowledge distribution. A female is bound to relate differently to the art pieces by Janine Antoni because the female gender is viewed as an inferior gender. A male relates to the pieces differently because they are influenced by superiority which is dominance over the female gender (PBS, 2014).

Mistakes are not mine

A writer’s style is what makes his or her work unique and attractive to the readers. In the book Mistakes were made but not me, the writer deserves a congratulatory hand for his amazing style that has been developed throughout the book. This makes the story more coherent as people, things and events are being introduced bit by bit.

To start with, the writer has perfected on the sentence fluency whereby parallel ideas are being conveyed in a systematic way. For instance, the writer starts by giving a brief history on how the Iranians came to hate their enemies that is Americans and the Israelites when their leader shah had been taken captive. Shah had done so much evil but the Iranians were still demonstrating for his release without considering what had been done there before. The writer creates a parallel idea on how people fail to admit their wrong actions by justifying them and make others to suffer instead.

The writer’s voice is so persuasive throughout the story. Depending on the incidence he describes, the writer has used both active and passive voice so that the seriousness of the message is portrayed. He has also given the reader a chance to reason on the facts he needs to communicate. This has been achieved by the use of rhetorical questions like who started this and who is to blame.

The climax of his excellence is marked by his amazing choice of words that fit into this context. He has used concise and precise words that are very easily understood by the readers. The writer is also rich in vocabulary, phrases and similes. Many more styles have been used by the writer to come up with the wonderful piece of work.

            Free Speech

            Part 1

I support the notion because rude gestures like demonstrating the middle finger to a cop is an insulting gesture which is meant at expressing provoking and disdain reactions.  These actions should get one arrested because even though people have the right to expression it does not mean that they should respond to rude gestures to others (Lefevre, & Castro, 2011).  This forms of gestures are not dignified approaches of expressing what one feels.  An individual should adopt other ways of resolving their differences if they thus feel that the services provided are inadequate or if they believe that the reaction of the other party is unjust.

Rude gestures would at times represent fighting words because they are a form of threat. This is because shows disrespect which may thus trigger the development of fight of words or even physical because of the offenses that they cause on the affected individual (Lefevre, & Castro, 2011). In addition waving the centre finger to an officer is may be a form of a threat since individuals are from different cultural backgrounds and therefore the insult may be interpreted differently.  This gesture, therefore, constitutes of abusive words because it not only affects the emotions of the cops.  The gesture is widely known as an insult and therefore in efforts to express how one feels this is a form of a criminal act. Although the constitution provides opportunities for people to express themselves it does not allow rude gestures to be utilized in expressing discontent (Lefevre, & Castro, 2011). The officer additionally as the right to express what they feel and these forms of the gesture may thus result in undesired outcomes because they may trigger anger (Lefevre, & Castro, 2011).

            Part 2

Libel and slander are different in that libel is a form of defamation that exists in written form while slander is mostly in verbal form (Gardner, & Anderson, 2014). Both verbal and written forms are considered as defamation which is distribution of false information which causes damages to the reputation of an individual, subject or group libel an individual is required to provide evidence that the information distributed caused others t develop dislike against them due to the message that was made and therefore prove that the information was inaccurate or wrong. However for the slander, the defendant is not required to prove that the message was wrong and the burden of proof is left on the plaintiff in providing that what they hold is true (Gardner, & Anderson, 2014).  Similarly, both libel and slander defamation has to demonstrate that the information caused contempt against the defendant. An example of a slander is New York and attorney Wooldridge who holds cases of individual celebrities who seeks compensation due to defamation.

            Part 3

Hawley Crippen an American doctor was convicted in 1910 in England for dismembering and poisoning his wife.  The murder execution was huge enough as it made global headlines (Wilkie, 2015). This was the first media trial landmark and also the first to be intervened by forensic scientist as technological advancement was slowly growing. Cora had disappeared under unstated and unclear situations during a dinner party in their house (Wilkie, 2015). Crippen told friends that she had gone back to her family and a later died from illness.  When investigation stated due to suspicions from friends he claimed that she run away to her lover and he later fled. When instigations revealed that he had poisoned his wife he was sentenced to death and then tried to appeal the case. For a decade, the case remained as changed John Trestrail discovered that the case had not been fully discovered (Wilkie, 2015).

His investigation, therefore, concluded that the body did not belong to Cora which was established after a DNA test was conducted on the collected body tissues (Wilkie, 2015).  The DNA failed to match and further discoveries were made that the body never belonged to a female gender and therefore he was a male victim.  John Trestrail got suspicious that Crippen had hidden 99 percent of the body part and failed to hide 1% (Wilkie, 2015).  After the discoveries, he later turned back to the court and police archives.  A latter was found in which Cora had written to Crippen that she was not ready to save him from prosecution. This, therefore, demonstrated that the police might have tempered with the provide evidence. These findings have thus facilitated the Crippen’s family to pardon him and return his bones to his native nation American as Crippen may have been flamed (Wilkie, 2015). This case is important to criminal justice because it is crucial in unveiling mistakes that are committed when the right procedures are not followed.

Subject:  Workforce Lay Off Recommendation

As per your request, the performance of employees was the key indicators in providing recommendations for the potential layoff for the corporation’s workforce.  It is therefore recommended that Julie Varney is submitted as a potential lay off an employee.  This is because despite her being a hard worker she is always the last employee to finish her negotiations deals which affect the performance of the general performance of employees.

The above recommendations were concluded based on several interests’ areas which were carefully evaluated. The interest’s areas of evaluation included performance averages, tasks contributions,   and numeric assistance of the workforce, comparative ranking and general corporation contribution based on achieving the stated objectives. This was based on the ability of the employees to adopt and sustain current trends in the market, ability to resolve issues, ability to develop accurate and clear reports and the ability to negotiate and maintain loyalty (William & Matthew, 4).

Manager’s evaluation

In the process of determining performance averages of employees, every individual work performance was analyzed by comparing the accomplishment of every individual based on the distinct tasks presented.  Julie Varney’s performance was established to hold minimum contribution on averages of performance. This is because although she loves attending to legal issues and analysis of the provide data she accomplishes her task last. This is mainly because she is a shy individual who does not like being involved in phone tasks. This thus reduces the performance because the corporation largely depends on phone dealings in accomplishing distinct tasks (William & Matthew, 3).  In receiving the performance analysis of all the employees it is evident that Julie Varney is an able employee for layoff.

Client evaluation

Several measures were utilized in the effort to determine which of the employee held the least value based on ranking.  Averages of tasks accomplishment and the value they generated were thus utilized while Julie Varney held the least value in comparison.  This is because Blake welling has continuously has been able to develop and develop the corporation customer base with his negotiation skills even though he is not innovative. Mark Gonzales is effective in the development of the product by utilization of advancing technology which is a beneficial factor to the corporation.  Sarah marksman is effective in marketing the corporations products because she is familiar with social media tools marketing which helps in creating awareness and increasing that market base.  Finally, Chris Summerfield has more experience in the marketing department and he has attained many contracts for the corporation (William & Matthew, 4).

Peer and client evaluation

In reviewing the general contributions of all the employees an evaluation was done based on  experience, effort,  achievements,  development of innovative ideas and the level of task completion effectiveness.  The analysis, therefore, confirmed that the recommended employee is suitable for the potential layoff because despite being innovative she slows down production because despite being a hard working and a consistent person her comparative ranking and general work analysis is lower than that of all the employees. In reviewing all the areas and evaluations it is this clear that Julie Varney is the recommended employee for possible layoff.

In addition the ability to build lasting relationships with those that surrounds you are outlined.

Self-evaluation, on the other hand, is based on individual potential in accomplishing tasks and overcoming challenges.
