Case Study

  • Case study
  • 1.What are some of the benefits and limitations of this approach?
  •             One of the benefits of case study as a method of approach to qualitative human services evaluation is that it helps in making it easier to get much information concerning a certain issue. Through this type of method, the researcher is able to apply various methods of finding information such as surveys. While using the method, a researcher is also able to present data collected through using various different researching methods. This makes it possible for the researcher to provide a complete story about the whole work (University of North California, 2001).
  •             The other advantage of using the qualitative method is that they provide the opportunity of making the work that a certain researcher is undertaking to have a broad expansion. Most of the case study can be lengthy because researchers give the information they get through the method of narrating. In most of the case studies, there is a room for discussing the views concerning the case (University of North California, 2001).
  •             Some of the limitations associated with the case study are that they make some of the readers to lose interest in learning the information if they are too lengthy. Most of the readers tend to lose interest in what the case study is approaching if they are unable to digest the first part of the study. The other limitation associated with the case study is that most of the scientists and researchers describe this method to be less in rigor. When compared with other types of research taking like the quantitative method, most of the stages of the case study tend be less rigorous than other survey methods. Another limitation of case study is that it is not generalizable. According to many academics, it is very difficult to generalize between various case study cases to another (University of North California, 2001).
