Each memo should be approximately 3 pages, double-spaced. While the tone of the memo should be objective and formal, you are encouraged to incorporate personal observations and experiences to enhance the development of your ideas.    

The objective of writing a reflection memo is to think critically and analytically about the reading and lecture material. Critical thinking involves linking your existing knowledge to new knowledge gained from the reading and lecture material while analytical thinking involves dissecting and defining key concepts, ideas, and theories to demonstrate your comprehension of the material.

A strong reflection memo will not merely be a summary, but a synthesis of ideas that ultimately support an argument. You are encouraged to develop a thesis statement to guide and frame the development of your ideas.
