  • Synopsis of his leadership Style
  •             According to how Mr. Charney answered all the questions that I managed to ask him during the interview, I depicted various characteristics to that he embrace in his leadership style. During the interview, Mr. Charney managed to offer detailed information concerning how he relates with all the employees in order to achieve the set objectives. While I was holding the interview with Mr. Charney, I realized he has the knowledge concerning the theories that relate to essential leadership skills. Some of the leadership theories that I depicted from Mr. Charney include:
  • Contingency Theory
  •             This theory indicates that a particular leader is able to focus his skills on various issues that directly or indirectly relate with the company. The theory explains that there is no particular leadership style that accomplishes what leader need to apprehend but success depends on how the leader implements the outlined styles.
  • Behavioral theory
  •             This particular theory explains that a leader ought to focus on actions that will depict his mental ability in solving various issues. The theory explains that effective leaders ought to learn from other recognized organizations. I also realized that he comprises the three leadership styles in his skills. One of the leadership styles that he employs in his management is:
  • Authoritative
  •             He is always able to make quick decisions that relate to various matters in the company. He always has all the required information to solve problems. When in a situation that depicts there is minimal time left to finish a certain operation, he is able to offer effective instructions of how to go about with the problem. He manages to motivate all his employees in order they can be able to offer the expected results that increase income in the company. He is also able offer effective instructions to all the employees in the company.
  •             While I was conducting the interview, I realized that he offers respective requirements that every one ought to accomplish in the company without getting the advice from any of stakeholders in the company. Although he encourages all the stakeholders to offer their opinions in decision making of the company, he mostly relies on his ability to run the company on its daily operations. This is one of the qualities demonstrate him as a good leader.
  • Delagative
  •             According to the answers that Charney provided, he illustrated that he complies with the delagative leadership style. He allows the employees to contribute on decision-making strategies of the company. However, as the CEO he ought to be responsible for the implementation of the decisions in the organization. He uses this tactic to encourage employees that they are all responsible for the operations that take place in the company. He understands that even though he works hard, he cannot be able to do everything that the company regulations entail. In this case, he manages to set various priorities and delegate some of the duties to responsible employees in the company. While using this style of leadership, I managed to understand that he does not apply it in order to blame other employees in case of a situation where anything goes unexpected but it is because he needs to encourage every one to participate in the well-being of the organization.
  • Participative
  •             Charney’s leadership skills as depicted during the interview demonstrate that he includes the participative or democratic style in his entitled duties. He illustrated that he realized in order for the company to gain more and accomplish all the set objectives at the end of every financial year, he ought to use outside opinions and information from all the employees. While doing so, he explained that this does not demonstrate that he is weak but it reflects a sign of strength that most of the workers in the company respect.
