In order for Netflix to be able to attract more viewers and subscribers, it needs to properly study its target market. The company seeks to attract the youth, and young viewers, in order to be able to increase its market share (Solomon et al, 2009). The youths dominate the social and technological world, thus attracting will consequently help the company in being able to increase its market share. One of the main approaches which the company should employee is referral programs. Most companies are currently attracting very many subscribers through referral programs (Windsor, 2015). This is whereby the person referring a friend, who is the referrer, refers a friend to Netflix and gets a free subscription. This is one of the ways through which the company will be able to engage the youths, since most of the youths will tend to joy ride on such offers.  

In addition, if Netflix allows its subscribers to refer a maximum of 5 friends before getting a free subscription for a certain given period of time, this will help in making the customers to market and promote Netflix through referring very many friends (Windsor, 2015). The use of the social media as a means of promoting Netflix will also help, through viral marketing. This is whereby the company asks people to share Netflix page, and whoever has the most shares, will be able to get a free subscription for a given period of time (Solomon et al, 2009). This will allow the company to be able to avoid incurring advertisements costs, whereas the information will be reaching very many people within the shortest time possible.

In areas where Netflix is new, the company should be able to promote its services through the use of billboards and television advertisements (Windsor, 2015). Using television advertisements will consequently help the company in reacting the awareness of Netflix and what it does. This should therefore be followed by billboard advertisements, whereby most people in areas where Netflix is still new will be able to understand how different the company is as compared to other companies currently in the market. Moreover, most people will be able to recognize Netflix, through watching it on the television and also on the billboards (Solomon et al, 2009). This will therefore increase Netflix’s viewership, and most people will also want to know more about the company, a thing which definitely allow the company to be able to gain a huge market share in different parts of the country.

The use of free trial partnerships with dominant television brands such as Sony and Samsung will also boost the viewership and subscription of Netflix. This is so because, most people tend to buy television sets from such brands, and thus encouraging them to subscribe to Netflix after watching for free, over the trial program (Windsor, 2015). The company will therefore be able to attract most of the customers, since most of them will get to see the types of movies that Netflix offers, hence ending up subscribing due to enjoyment. On the other hand, movies tend to be addictive, a thing which will make most people to subscribe to Netflix after the free trials (Solomon et al, 2009). Through employing the given promotional techniques, the company will be able to boost its viewership and subscription, thus increasing its market share.
