1. Please describe how you have prepared for your intended major, including your readiness to succeed in your upper-division courses once you enroll at the university.

Economics is one of the majors which the society requires in order to apply the best level of skills with a combination of market trends to create the best for the success of the business. It is a study that involves understanding how production and the distribution of services and goods affect consumer behavior. In the midst of the job market which is unfavorable and overcrowded, economics still takes on the world as the best kind of degree that each person should consider studying. Economics basically influences and affects the daily happenings including the type of food and clothes we use. Getting to understand the price, demand, and supply of the commodities in the market is beneficial to the society and to the person pursuing further studies in economics. A combination of both law and economics offers the best chances for success in the local and international market. Such a combination allows a person to be well equipped with the best strategies to deal with issues to do with the business in terms of legal actions to take once something unacceptable has happened. Economics also happens to offer a wide range of options for study ranging from environmental economics to public policy. With such enhanced skills the student is capable of making informed decisions once he or she leaves the institution to start a business. Having completed a major in English, mathematics, micro and macroeconomics and business law, economics will offer the best skills combining with the other majors. Combing related courses is a perfect strategy since it allows for the creation of many job opportunities or even starts a personal business which will offer employment opportunities. Most of the people who have studied economics do not move around looking for employment but rather use the gained skills and knowledge to create a job opportunity for others to join. Finance is also a field of study where it involves a lot of economics and having particular knowledge in finance is also advantageous. Being enrolled to study economics in the university is the ultimate goal of prepared.

2. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.

Leadership is also a very important skill that a person should be in possession of to help a society or a group of people move on to achieve various goals in life. During my primary school, I engaged in many activities where one of them was being able to lead a team of my friends while playing ping-pong. Being a team leader is an important stage since this is a position which many consider being held by people of integrity and self-will and self-control. The team was always the first during any competition be it internal or external. This was highly appreciated by the teachers and the parents since it indicates the possibility of success when working as a team even in the classrooms. At such a tender age, the team was supported and recognized as the best in the whole city and this could never have happened if we lacked the necessary integrity and self-control. Being a team leader indicates responsibility which needs to be positive to lead the team members in the right direction. At the high school position, I was the monitor of my class and also a team leader to a small group of students. Other students looked up to me for the sake of making informed decisions which would enhance teamwork. Teamwork is very necessary since it makes the mind to grow to greater levels while still gaining control over crucial details in school life. In many cases, the students would be faced by the issue of lack of a mentor but due to the idea of sharing experiences and holding minor meetings with the students, many were able to overcome their challenges. Through the group's exchange of ideas prevailed and this allowed an increased level of understanding and capturing of what is taught in class. Being a leader from a tender age allowed me to be able to manage even my after-school life. Currently, a manager of a business, the skills learned over the years are helpful in making sure that each decision made is thoughtful.

3. Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement?

In the life of a person, there are many challenges which affect the activities and the normal running of things and which ultimately affect the achievements desired in life. In many cases, challenges are meant to make a person change the behaviors or the tactics used for the occurrence of the challenge. One of my major challenges included living in a foreign country. While in a foreign country, a person has limitations such as language barrier, communication breakage, different rules and regulations set by the government and many other challenges. Understanding or even talking in the English language was the biggest nightmare experienced while living in the United States. This was back when I was only 16 years old. Considering the age and the amount of time used or wasted, it was practical and a fact that I was going to learn and speak English. This is a big challenge since changing from the known to the unknown is always a challenging task. The process of learning has also reduced the level of understanding is also very low. This simultaneously affects the academic level of achievement since it delays in progressing to the next levels. Changing from one language to another is very hard for a person above the age of 9 years since they have already mastered the initial language taught during childhood. Pronouncing and making complete sentences was a problem that affected even the grades in school. At that age, I was forced to read and understand a child’s group as a way of starting from the lowest level in learning English. It was very challenging but due to the seriousness and the need to achieve a better life, I had to train. This eventually paid off very well as of today I can make sentences and even understand English clearly. Speaking in English has also been developed over the time by the use of the books and associating with other people.

4. What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?

One of my greatest skills is being able to read and understand which is being a fast learner. Comparing the time spent in my home country and the time spent in the United States, it is very practical that being a fast learner is an important skill. Through learning, I was able to discover various abilities such as the ability to not make any mistake mostly or to fix the mistake very fast before the problem escalates. Writing is also a field of study that I have engaged with and which has been my hobby. Currently, I have very many notebooks which are well written and posses the capacity of being understandable. I also love being able to conduct business and this is the reason as to why today am in business and a manager. When I was young, my father used to take me to work with him and from that age, I am now able to understand how to manage a business very effectively. I have been able to develop my fast learning capability through engaging with various people especially my father. The skills learned at his job place offer the best opportunity for the success of the business. Being able to read and understand as fast as I can have been the key to being successful in my skills. Every skilled personnel use the best available means to ensure that they get the best from every activity. After completing school, working in the United States has helped sharpen my skills even more. Through working and being in a group of people who have a similar objective which is a success has allowed me to understand English to the best level and still growing with time. It is through knowledge and skills that a person can be able to grow and develop quality standards. It is necessary to look forward and to the future of most businesses and the current society in order to make quality decisions.
