Discussions of Karl Marx and C. Wright Mills, as well as our introductory articles on the class politics of #BlackLivesMatter and Occupy Wall Street. Respond to the following prompts (I suggest you spend about one paragraph on each).
The paper should be one page in length, single-spaced, Times New Roman 12 pt font.

In your writing, imagine the reader has never heard the concept you are writing about before and break it down in short, simple sentences.

Paragraph 1: In your first paragraph describe Marx’s theory of class struggle. Then, tell me about Mills’ theory of the Power Elite. Conclude with a sentence or two about how these theories compare to each other.

Paragraph 2: Find a recent New York Times article about current events related to policing and/or social movements. In your second paragraph describe the contents of the article and how it relates to either Marx’s theory of class struggle or Mills’ theory of the power elite.
