Abortion is legal in all 50 states and was made so by the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case of Roe v. Wade in 1973. We are not going to argue the moral or ethical implications of why abortion should be illegal or legal. It is honestly an unwinnable argument. Why do you think it is an unwinnable argument? Do you think we will ever be able to find a "compromise"? Even in the event of a compromise does someone loose? Is there such a thing? What can we realistically do?
