Questions and Topics We Can Help You To Answer:
Paper Instructions:

Writing Prompt: The Federalists and Anti-Federalists debated on a number of fronts.  On the subject of the executive branch, which side had the stronger argument?  Your essay should be between 1000-1200 words.

Notes:

1.    In addition to your two textbooks, you are free to look at other speeches and writings of the Federalists and Anti-Federalists.  One particularly good resource in this regard is the following website: http://teachingamericanhistory.org/fed-antifed/
2.    You are free to use contemporary examples (e.g., “The Anti-Federalists were right to fear _______ as demonstrated by the fact that President Trump ________.”).  However, this assignment should primarily be an exercise in analyzing the arguments of the Founding generation.  What argument(s) did they put forward?  Were they convincing?  Why or why not?  How did their opponents respond?  Are these counter-arguments persuasive?
