Questions And Topics We Can Help You To Answer

Read the article "Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants," in the Additional Readings tab at left. Then watch this short video (you can stop watching when PBS "Idea Channel's" David Lowery asks the question, "What do You think? Are there digital natives and digital immigrants?" because that is what you will be discussing here in your postings. You can stop at about 5:30--he goes on to another topic at that point.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WVKBAqjHiE

So after reading and watching, decide if you are a digital native or a digitial immigrant. Based on your knowledge and experience, do you agree or disagree with Lowery that Prensky's labels are really not accurate?

Discussion Board Guidelines:

Discussion is an important part of the learning process. Just as in a face-to-face class, students are required to interact with peers and/or the instructor on topics relevant to the subject material. There are 2 Discussion assignments in this course. These will be graded based on the following criteria:

Original Post (50% of assignment) (150-300 words) addressing the discussion topic. Posts should be written in a formal style (prefer APA or MLA) and be free of errors. The goal is to indicate a practical understanding of the course content. Good discussion posts include relevant examples, outside sources, and 1-2 thought-provoking questions posed to peers to encourage conversation.
