Federal Communications Commission “Super WiFi

  • Federal Communications Commission “Super WiFi
  •             The creation of “Super WiFi” network by the federal government to be use by the public is good idea in several ways. First, the network created would be so broad and therefore be able to reach the entire consumer across the nation. Second the consumers will not only use the networks to surf the internet but also make calls (Dominique, 512). This would in turn help to save consumer from the burden of paying for the cell phone bill every month. Another important point to note is that the creation of this type of network would also give the room for individuals to carry out the technological innovation. Most importantly the network will be offered for free therefore allowing everyone across the nation to access the network.
  •             Exploring the idea of “Super WiFi” it is evident that there exist several barriers, which may affect the implementation of the project. First most of the wireless companies object the idea citing that it would negatively affect their business. Second most of the lawmakers object that idea citing that it is not good to offer such network free since it would negatively affect the economy (Andrea, 221). Some people also argue that the project is too expensive and therefore it would literally not be possible for the government to implement such project. Another major problem associated with the use of the WiFi is that the network may be jammed in the major cities. In addition some of people also argue that the government should not prioritize such projects since there other important issue that it needs to addressed such as unemployment. However, I would argue that the project should be implemented since it will have more advantages than the disadvantages. The project would therefore benefit the country and facilitate economic growth since everyone would have free access to the network.
