COMMUNICATION SKILLS

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Interpersonal refers to the occurrence or something involving several people. The interpersonal skills refer to the ability of an individual to get along with others. This is used on a day to day life situation through the interaction of an individual with others such as in a classroom. This skill is important not only at the workplace but also in personal and social life. A group consists of more than an individual. For communication to take place it has to be between two or more people. This happens when they exchange opinions, ideas or any information. This can happen in an area such as support groups for various victims (Marsen, 2006).

Organizational communication is a field of consideration, analysis, and criticism. This flow of information can either be formal or informal.  The main purpose of communication in an organization is to inform, persuade and promote the goodwill of the organization. Mass communication is the process in which people, persons or groups or organization sends a message to each other through the channels of communication such as television, social media, radio and print media. Cultural communication refers to the way communicate culturally. This communication happens between members of the community in exchanging any information. Cross-culture communication is challenging due to different culture rules. This is more challenging to multinational communication (Marsen, 2006).

These fields of communication are similar in a way that they all involve the exchange of information from an individual, group or organization to another. In the fields communication can either be formal or informal and all their information has an origin (Marsen, 2006). There are also some differences as some of the fields such as cultural communication take place in a certain culture. Some of the fields like mass communication can be used to spread information fast and to a large number of individuals and groups while culture and group communication may be relatively slower and limited.
