            Discussion 1

            The issues that are reflected in the resources are presented in the form of photography. These ideas cannot be challenged because they are reliable and accurate because they are based on the perception of individual’s in gender roles (Ponte,2011). The ideas are therefore based on facts as well as the expectation of individuals on a particular gender. Both Sherman and Antoni address gender in their arts by displaying the roles that distinct genders plays.

            Discussion 2

             Her characters are believable and reliable because the viewer can freely relate with them.  Her characters are driven by those activities and roles that women play and therefore the viewer can believe them because they have experience that they happen which makes it easy to draw a connection. The viewers can additionally connect this because they can relate this to their expectations of women (Ponte, 2011).

            Discussion 3

            The transformation theme is crucial in showing the changing nature of the gender roles.  In this, she is subverting the traditional gender roles for women by demonstrating distinct roles that they play in life (PBS, 2014). She is emphasizing on gender stereotype by creating awareness on the crucial roles that women play (Ponte, 2011).

            Discussion 4

            Presenting the roles in photographic mode has a different impact as compared to other Medias. This is because through photography she is fully able to display the female gender roles in different pictures thus communicating distinct messages (PBS, 2014).

            Discussion 5

            My relation with her pieces is good as it helps in the creation of awareness by increasing knowledge distribution. A female is bound to relate differently to the art pieces by Janine Antoni because the female gender is viewed as an inferior gender. A male relates to the pieces differently because they are influenced by superiority which is dominance over the female gender (PBS, 2014).
