The majority of developed countries have moved to some form of corporatized or privatized air traffic control. This move frees ATC from the stress of political conflict, such as government shutdowns, and changes the management of funding. In contrast, the United States still retains full control of ATC, which results in the aviation industry feeling the effects of government struggles. Following recent US government shutdowns, there is a renewed push to see US ATC corporatized.

What do you believe are the greatest advantages and disadvantages of corporatizing air traffic control? In your opinion should the United States corporatize air traffic control? Why or why not?
