  •             One of most significant findings about GMMP is the one they made back in 1995. The findings demonstrated that the news just present 17% of women in the subjects that are made on daily basis on media channels. This percentage includes the women who are interviewed and those whom the news is about. According to the findings, the group managed to demonstrated that gender parity was a distant prospect in many regions of the world. Another significant finding that GMMP managed to discover during this period of 2005 was that women are the most who present most of the news but they is rarely about them.
  •             The other important finding that GMMP has managed to make so far is about the issue that the group focused on the year 2000. The group showed that the number of women remained low in the year 2000 where they presented 18% of the news. These particular findings illustrated that the number of women appearing in the news had just increased with an insignificant change for a period of five years.
  •             The other significant finding that the group managed to make was in 2005. The group managed to find out that there was a small but slow change in the number of women who appear in the news on daily basis all over the world. The 2005 findings illustrated that there were only 21% of the news that showed issues related to women. This was an increase of 3% compared to the figure that was taken in five years ago. Moreover, the group managed to find out that the issue of women appearance in the news was overwhelming because only about 10% of the news focused specifically on women. The 2005 findings demonstrated that men outnumbered women on the news made. The findings of 2005 further demonstrated that the women were rarely presented in all the issues given first priority on daily basis in the news. The overall findings of the group during three periods indicated that news stories were likely to reinforce gender stereotypes rather than challenging them.
  •             Communication scholars ought to be concerned with various issues concerning the findings of GMMP because they present a methodology of a number of news monitoring subjects. Some of these subjects include advertising or ethnicity, rights of women and all the interests and issues related to women. Moreover, through the findings of this group, scholars can be able to figure out what out to be done in order to minimize gender inequality that is significant demonstrated in the news industry.

  •             The study made by GMMP is an example that there is a possibility of using both quantitative and qualitative content analysis. Both of the two methods of collecting information have been applied on the finding projects of this group in order to complement each other. One of the ways that the study that the study has demonstrated use of quantitative research is on correcting and presenting the data that relates to the number of women who are subjected to being presented in the news as would be expected. The group has managed to use quantitative method in indicating the difference between the percentage that they managed to make during their first findings on 1995 and their last findings on 2005.
  •             The group also applied qualitative method in making their research in the fact that they managed to gather verbal data concerning the issue of women being subjected to news presentation. Most of the researchers who participated in this particular research were able to correct the required necessary information through the method of listen verbal message being offered or presented on the news. They were also able to interview a number of participants in order to get their view on the story concerning the news that they listen on daily basis. This is an example of how the researchers applied qualitative research method. Therefore, it is significant that both of two methods can be applied to complement each other. The only issue that I would recommend in the study while correcting information next time is to increase the number of researchers. According to the study, there is a clear evidence that the number of researchers were few and this could translates that they did not mange to get expected figure from many of the rural areas in the world.

  •             One of the most significant issues to consider in the Canadian context in order to increase or make considerable improvements in the number of women who focused on news media is to enhance gender awareness in all sectors of the country. The study indicates that there is gender stereotyping in every sector of the country men are the dominant ones. There is also a need to change the perspective that women are only supposed to dwell with family obligations but they also have the responsibility of playing part in the national and international matters. Moreover, there is a need to increase the number of women in all employment sectors in order they can be represented equally as men.
  •             One of the changes that ought to be done in Canada is to consider the system and method of offering employment to all people while considering gender equality. This means that there will be more women participating in various issues in the future. Therefore, women will be in every government and society sectors and win media attention most of the times. This is the main standpoint of the study and I fully support it.
