For this assignment, answer two of the four questions listed below to test knowledge and assimilation of the course objectives. Use the course readings. You may supplement with other resources, but you may not substitute. Part of the objective, after all, is to show that you read the required material.

Choose Two Questions to Answer:

1.  Drawing upon course material, discuss whether U.S. national security policy needs to be based on the idea of decline. Incorporate at least the DIME aspects of the DIMEFIL construct as the framework for your response

***2.    Does engaging in nation building increase security?  If so, how?  If not, why not? Incorporate at least the DIME aspects of the DIMEFIL construct and/or the PME aspects of the PMESII construct as the framework for your response.

3.  Define power. What makes the US more or less powerful on the international stage?  Incorporate at least the PME aspects of the PMESII construct as the framework for your response.

4.  Name three possible grand strategies for the US administration to adopt. Incorporate at least the DIME aspects of the DIMEFIL construct and/or the PME aspects of the PMESII construct as the framework for your response and choose one as the most likely to be effective in the future.  Two DIMEFIL's have been attached for an example of the DIME format.  

TECHNICAL GUIDANCE:
    Each answer should be at a minimum 4 pages for each question for a total of 8 pages total (the Title Page and Bibliography page will be additional pages).
    Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space. Please provide a separate heading for each question (should be one document).
    Students will follow the Turabian Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
