During the eighteenth century, many British observers remarked on what they saw as the growing cultural, economic, social, and political differences between themselves and their colonial subjects across the Atlantic.  For these British observers, the American Colonials were becoming more American and less British with every passing year.  What major cultural, economic, religious, social, and political trends contributed the most to this process of Americanization in the eighteenth century?  What trends were less important?
