  •             Jefferson was America’s president in the early 1800s (Catlett 5). He came from a simple background in the state of Virginia in America. He led the citizens of the United States between 1801 and 1809 (Catlett 5). Jefferson is considered a great president because of various achievements that he made during his period as a president. He is most remembered due to the issue of the Declaration of Independence (Catlett 79). Jefferson was a recognized political thinker and especially while he was leading the Democratic Republican Party. He defended the principles of the federal constitution for the sake of American citizens. In addition, he defended the economic and civil liberties of America. Jefferson is considered a great president because of his love for education and passion for innovation (Catlett 79).
  •             According to the history of the United States, Jefferson’s life is considered worthy to be remembered because of the Declaration of Independence (Catlett 79). According to the Statute, Jefferson illustrates that there is no difference between secular government and secular nation.
  •             Jefferson is considered as a great president because of his contribution to the field of politics. He stayed in public office working for the people rather than relaxing. In addition to this, Jefferson was closely related to the citizens, and he was a man of a broad mind (Merwin 25). He was able to mold the spirit of the citizens in America during his leadership. Every person who came after Jefferson turned to him for direction and inspiration. According to the history of America, Jefferson was faithful in his work in public offices (Merwin 26).
  •             Jefferson achievements were many but most remembered one is that during his leadership, America increased in size. The increase in the American area was because of the purchase of the Louisiana Territory (Merwin 33). Another reason why Jefferson is considered a great president in the history of America is his contribution to protect crucial trade interests. He made war with the Barbary States in order to protect crucial trade interests of his nation (Catlett 83). During his leadership, Jefferson won the fame of being diplomatic that will last forever in the history of United States. Jefferson put much contribution to the education sector in the United States (Catlett 63). He managed to become a great architect in history. He also played a role in campaigning for the advancement of art and music in the United States. He was a great innovator as he managed to make a decoding device. He also invented a lap desk and managed to make an improved type of plow. In his life, Jefferson managed to put together collection of books that exceeded 6.400. The collection is one of the major parts of the Library of Congress (Catlett 83). Through his great love and contribution to education, he developed a decimal system coinage. This innovation allows Americans to keep accounts in dollars and cents.
  •             Jefferson’s political philosophies included stressing the virtues of agriculture and industrialization (Merwin 28). He was convinced that the Americans could only succeed if they were the independent producers of their products. On the issue of industrialization, Americans saw the danger of the wealthy being a threat to the poor ones. They viewed that they could be controlled by their wealthy and worried of the high number that would rise because of poverty. The political philosophies of Jefferson were acceptable to the average American because they were beneficial. His political philosophies were concerned with the welfare of the society (Merwin 29). The Americans will live to remember the deeds of Jefferson from one generation to the other.
  •             Jefferson contributed to both political and religious matters in a manner that showed he respected both fields. Although the American Revolution had negative impact concerning the religious norms, Jefferson still managed make sure that people offered respect to the religious norms (Merwin 28). He managed to balance the two fields because he had the power of the legislature. In addition, he demonstrated the norms that support Christianity like fighting corruption within his government. For example, he separated the principles of English liberty from their norms of corruption. Many citizens believed in Jefferson’s way of leadership and this contributed to his win in building the American nation. He believed that the Americans would succeed only if there was freedom of worship and the right governance in power.
  •             The history of America recognizes Jefferson as on of the great men to be remembered all the times. His achievements contributed to the well being of today’s America. Jefferson managed to impress the citizens of America to work hard in order to achieve what they desired. He will always be in the minds of citizens and be remembered by many generations for his positive contributions to a successful America. He wrote many motivational quotes that will be used by the future generations. He is a great man who desire respect and to be appreciated all the times.
