  • There are various reasons that contribute to the definition that the former colonists became Americans after independence. Most of the colonists were from the Northern America States. The following are the three essential characteristics that demonstrates who were truly America.
  • Jackson's presidency (Indian Removal)
  • President Jackson who was elected in 1823 contributed much in the Indian removal after America gained its independence. The main reason for Jackson to support the removal of the Indians was that he wanted the American to occupy all the southern region land that the Indians were holding. The Indians managed to take the case to the Supreme Court but unfortunately their pleas were not powerful compared to the arguments made by Jackson. Most of the colonists who were mainly involved in the struggle for independence needed to have share of the national cake in order to feel accepted in the society. The government helped them in having part of the land they fought for during the independence.
  • The colonists began to create various Extra-legal institutions and they managed to spread so in a very fast rate to the rest parts of the country. Most of the colonists settled in the Northern part of the country before they managed to spread to other parts of the country. Even though the colonists did not aspire to enjoy the fullness fruits of independence, their joy were that, they managed to experience the advantages of having self-government. The colonists managed to build provincial convections of pro-liberty that were run at local levels in various parts of the Northern American States. Most of the convections lead to the colonists’ unofficially selecting delegates who presented them in the inter-colonial congress. Through this various achievements, the colonists managed to became part of the American community.
  • Industrial change and Urbanization
  • The colonists contributed much in the industrialization and urbanization of the American states. Their experience in many of the industrialization sectors led to their interaction with a large number of people in the society. The Europeans who engaged in the business sector also managed to educate most of the colonist on how to engage in business activities. This is because the Americans considered that they were benefiting much from the business activities that most of the colonists brought to the country. Unlike the Indians who were considered by the Americans that they were only exploiting their resources, the European colonists contributed to the development of the American economy.
  • Much of the industrialization that occurred in America started in the Northern areas that were dominated by the European colonizers. Industrialization made birth to urbanization of the great estates that dwells even during to date although through various modern renovations. The British people who dominated in most parts of the Northern America like the Virginia help in making creating various manufacturing industries that and other industrialized features that assisted in improving the economic level of the country. The French colonizers who dominated in most parts of the west of Florida managed to create a much development in the agricultural related sectors. Both of the French and the British settlers who contributed in the trading interest of the transatlantic commerce played a crucial role in generating economic benefits to the country of America. During the industrialization period, the Most of the industrialization sector were improved by the colonists through forced labor. This is the reason why most of the colonists gained acceptance from the whole society of the American community and managed to become citizens after independence.
  • Reform and Moral order
  • Reform is one the most significant issues that most of the colonists contributed in America. The British people who were Christians helped in teaching the American about how to develop positive social morals in the society. They also taught the Americans about the Christian norms that they were required to follow as indicated in the holy bible. Most of the people in the American society paid much attention to the teachings from the Europeans author others did not have interest with their teachings.
  • Various forces contributed in reforming the lives of most of the American colonists. They managed to undergo through various hard situations that contributed in changing most of their lives. The long and bitter consequences of war were the main contribution of the reforms that most of the Americans created. Most of the colonists became true American after independence because their managed to pay for it. They managed to create more public schools after the war as part of the reform process. The colonists were responsible for teaching other members of the community during the and after their fight to claim for independence. They helped in teaching the citizens several civic virtues that could help them increase their knowledge on several issues relating to social and political norms. The reforms that the colonists went through citizens especially after independence.
