You are the wife of an artisan – a saddler (saddle maker) – and you are having a conversation with your husband about the implications of the American Revolution (and republican ideas)  for yourself and your daughters.  The date is July 4 at some point between the late 1790s and  the 1820s.    In constructing your imagined conversation draw from the lectures and from Christine Stansell’s City of Women.  Be sure to incorporate some discussion of your daily activities as a wife and mother.  (Stansell’s book will help you to do that.)  You can decide whether your household is prosperous or impoverished.
