Validity

  • Validity
  •             Validity is a term that academics use to refer in to various perspectives. While referring to the system of certain measurement in a writing obligation, validity refers to the ability or being able to assess the measurement of the intended object. However, while defining validity in the coding systems, it refers to the closeness of the fit that the categories included in between the phenomena might be pointing. At last, validity can refer to the extent in to which the method used in testing is able to measure what it claims to be able to measure. There are two methods of measuring of validity, namely:
  • Criterion-related Validity
  •             According to this type of validity, a test can be considered to have this type when it demonstrates the effectiveness of the way it can be able predict the indicators of a certain score. In this type of validity, there are two types related to it. Both the two types of criterion include the concurrent and predictive validity. In concurrent validity, a test is obtained when there is the same measure in the time when there is the appearance in the test score. On the other hand, predictive validity occurs when the test in criterion measure occurs after the test.
  • Construct Validity
  •             When referring to further meaning of validity, professionals include the term construct validity. A test may have this meaning if there is a close indication of the test score and what would be intended to be in the theoretical trait. One of the best examples to give in this type of validity is the intelligence tests. There are various other methods that professional use in testing validity that includes desirable properties and the positioning of the Truth-Functional Logic.
