God of small thing

Questions and Topics We Can Help You To Answer

Choose no more than three characters from《 the god of small thing》 . Keep your choices in logical alignment with your topic--in other words, avoid choosing characters that do not interact with the topic you intend to explore.

-        Construct a scene that places your characters in dialogue with one another about the chosen topic.  The end goal here is to write a complete act or scene that could be performed in front of an audience.  This means you must describe your setting/stage, account for character entrances and exits, decide who speaks (and when), and generally control the action much like a director does.

-        You will also write a 1-page analysis of your scene. This should discuss the intellectual and aesthetic goals you are aiming to accomplish in your scene. What issue are you exploring? Why did you choose this setting, these circumstances, and this set of characters to explore it?

-        Assume that your audience is familiar with the texts and knows the characters intimately.  With this in mind, you cannot have characters acting radically “out of form” in terms of expected behavior.

-        If you decide to have characters quote themselves, or outside sources, be sure to cite the material correctly.

Although there is some fun to be had in the writing of this project, pursue it seriously.  The more you can meaningfully explore your topic through varying viewpoints, the better.  Remember that while this assignment is creative in nature, the underlying goal is to demonstrate critical thinking.

Length: 5-6 pages, including the 1-page analysis

Analysis guide: In your analysis, please discuss what your goals are in the scene: what topic are you exploring?  Why did you choose these characters to explore this topic? What does the conclusion/fallout indicate?
