For this paper, you will write a 1,250 word essay in MLA format and using standard formal English. The essay will be on one of the issues currently affecting society today. For this essay, you must take a stance on one side of the issue. This will be your thesis. You are of course required to have evidence supporting your argument, therefore multiple sources are required. In fact, you must have at least 5 sources. While you are arguing one side of the issue, you will have to spend time in your essay discussing the opposing viewpoint (with sources of course). You should refute the opponent viewpoint, but you will not belittle it. At no point in your essay, should you become hostile.  You must remain civil at all times. As always, you may not use 1st or 2nd person pronouns or contractions. In addition, do not include any rhetorical questions.
