Atheism

Atheism

Atheism refers to the lack of belief in a deity or a supernatural being. Atheists usually require tangible evidence so that they may believe in something and that something includes god. During the early history of man a lot of natural phenomena could not be explained due to lack of technology and advancement in science. This created the idea of god in the mind of humans so as to explain the natural phenomena which they did not understand. As the humans advanced in knowledge and scientific research, understanding of natural phenomena and its causes has proved ways in which this events can be predicted and anticipated, making the idea of a god to slowly fade (Smith, 2016)

In the past, people covered their weakness by fantasizing about what god would do for them and believing that he would determine their destiny and future and would also strengthen their spirit. But as humans continued to develop, the idea of god is forced to adapt to human affairs and conditions which directly fits it to its early origin where it was born so that it can calm people’s fears. Curiosity and fear led to god being born by man .The early primitive man had no knowledge of natural phenomena which directly affected him and he feared nature and the unseen forces that caused weather and other natural phenomena to change. Due to this fear, coupled by ignorance, the idea of god was born. As a consequence, religion was born which is seen today. Man had not fully attained. Therefore, god is just a mirage created by man and religion is collective creation of man by his own brain (Vitz, 2013).

The idea of god has been revived and emphasized among humans. It has dominated human issues and influenced values and human beliefs. As long as man clings to the idea of a god and not work on his relationship with fellow men, he will never outgrow his dependence and need of god. What most atheists see in god and religion is blackmailing and submitting of people into obedience with a reward of heaven and punishment in case of disobedience. God stands for mercy and justice but atheists wonder why there is a lot of injustice in the world if a god really exists somewhere. It is up to man to stand for humanity and bring justice in a world that is full of injustice. Therefore, atheism seeks to expand the human mind in a manner that will see man benefit other humans. The human mind is not bond to be fixed to one place but it seeks know and to expand its territory always. Therefore, the human mind realized the universe is not as result of a powerful being but as the result of forces which operated within a long period of time through attraction, repulsion and crystallization (Cipriani, 2016).

Atheism, therefore stands for life that is not controlled nor regulated by spirituality or a nonexistent heaven but an actual world which humans live in freely with endless possibilities. Atheism origin is based on the earth and life on earth. Atheism seeks to free humanity from the gods such as Judaism, buddhistic and mohammedan.Atheism claims that man has been enslaved by gods and the faster he frees himself from this captivity, the faster his consciousness will awaken and bring a better life in his heart and mind. When man learns to view earth as the only heaven he has, a new liberating mind will be born in him and he will learn to depend upon himself to make decisions and not on punishment and heaven as a price for worshipping god. Also, morality forced on people by religion is becoming irrelevant and less vital. This is seen through the crimes and other vices that these religions disapprove. In conclusion, atheism seeks to inform man to embrace himself and then form a relationship with fellow men, hence it has confidence in man alone to bring beauty and prosperity in the world (Curran, 2011)
