Writing Prompt for “That's Not The Way I Homeschool” Homeschooling has become an accepted educational option for many families in the last fifty years. In “That’s Not the Way I Homeschool,” the writer explains the reasons why some people choose to educate their children at home. Some people think they can provide a more interesting education by allowing their children to do more hands-on activities, and others see homeschooling as a way to keep their children safe. There are people, however, who disagree with the idea of homeschooling. These people claim that homeschooled children may not learn the social skills they need to survive in the world. They also say that homeschools cannot provide resources such as science labs, athletic facilities, and technological resources that public schools can. If you are writing by hand, do not re-write/re-copy your paper. Simply mark out errors and write corrections above them or in the margin, using arrows to indicate your revisions.
