Milk and Faith by Carmen Gimenez Smith

Milk and Faith by Carmen Gimenez Smith

From three major poems namely When God was a woman, A Devil inside Me and Feminine Agency the common theme is feminism. The three poems describe the active responsibility played by women in different undertakings. Conventionally, females had little if zero intervention in various cultures and thus their contributions were never valued as much. The female agency is presented as the capability of the characters to making operational decisions and working tirelessly in the quest of changing the decisions into the desired results. This is a struggle to acquire liberation even though they are restrained. In that, for these women who are forced to operate within the cruel structures, they partake actions that assist in transforming norms thus leading to more improved existence for others

All the women utilize their experiences although not appealing in order to create the best out of the oppressive scenario. In that for Instance, in A Devil inside Me, Ava is involved in pursuing the evil which is not known in the quest of guarding the final resort despite knowing he is evil she finds him ass irresistible as she fights to win him (Giménez 34). On the Other hand in the poem When God Was a Woman it demonstrates the capability possessed by women in regard to bringing about huge transformations for selves and that of the society in general. These poems are based on the feminism theme because they are focused on the capability by females to operate above the set struggles and operate for greater things while asserting on identity, survival and bring transformations for their community. They all appear to be struggling against prevailing oppression and evil but work well through it all.
